Reading problems can occur for a variety of reasons. These include difficulties within the student or simply a lack of skill development due to outside influences. When students begin to fall behind academically they may feel inadequate or unable to measure up to parent and teacher expectations. These feelings can in turn cause additional problems with self-esteem, and motivation. When a child does not develop skill for reading, it is important to determine whether the student needs more practice or if he/she needs a different kind of instruction. New research in reading suggests that students with learning problems require instruction that is sequential and intensive. our teachers have training in these types of programs. We are continually bringing new programs on line that are in the best interests of our students.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide effective educational therapy for children and adults with learning difficulties, who do not get sufficient support at school. We also provide early interventions services for families at risk for dyslexia.

Lakeside Reading Center is the place where children come to receive the help they need for overcoming obstacles to learning. These obstacles may be minor if treatment is achieved early enough, or we service older children and adults with a variety of educational needs. In our opinion,
