Educational Therapy is..... ...an approach to instruction that offers children and adults with learning difficulties a wide range of intensive, individualized interventions designed to remediate the learning problem. Educational therapy demystifies learning problems and stimulates the student's awareness of their own strengths so they can overcome their weaknesses. Educational therapists create and implement a treatment plan specifically for the student. In order to do this they collect information from a variety of sources: parents, classroom teachers, psycho-educational assessments and others. This allows us to provide very specific kinds of instruction to best fit the needs of the student. There is no one program that's right for everyone. "After more than a century of frustration, it has now been shown that the brain can be rewired and that struggling children can become skilled readers." --S. Shaywitz At Lakeside Reading Center we specialize in learning problems associated with reading and language arts. We can service adults and children for addressing problems of dyslexia. Some children may have difficulties with attention and memory that attribute to their lack of progress in reading, we have programs for that. We also work with adults and children who have reading comprehension issues. No matter the cause, we'll find a way for your student to become successful. |
